BOX ELDER COUNTY NATIVE

Blair and his high school sweetheart, Heidi, are Bear River High School alumni. Other than serving a two-year mission to Hawai'i for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and moving away to complete college and law school, Blair and Heidi have had the privilege of making Box Elder County their home. Now they are blessed to be able to raise two incredible boys in this wonderful valley as well. Blair was raised by incredible parents - Allen & Julia Wardle - who are also from Box Elder County and taught Blair all about service and civic involvement. Blair understands our rural community and cherishes our small town traditions, values, and culture.

LOVE OF THE LAW

Blair found his love of law when he was only 8-years-old when he happened to find his sister's Business Law college textbook. Although his legal aspirations ultimately took him in a different direction, Blair was enthralled with the logic and philosophy of law. Not surprisingly, Blair went on to earn his Bachelor's degree graduating cum laude from Utah State University with a dual major in Law & Constitutional Studies and Philosophy. Blair continued to pursue his passion for law and graduated with honors from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law.

LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP

While attending law school at the U, Blair worked as a part-time law clerk for the Box Elder County Attorney's Office. After law school, Blair was hired as fulltime prosecutor for the county where he learned under the expertise and tutelage of Box Elder's distinguished and respected county attorney, Stephen R. Hadfield. Blair is a natural leader, so it wasn't long before he was named the Chief Deputy Attorney. Working together, with the greatest staff one could ever hope for, Blair and Steve have implemented changes and innovation over the years to ensure the office runs efficiently and effectively to serve the citizens of the county. Blair is looking forward to continuing the legacy of leadership and integrity that were ingrained in him from County Attorney Hadfield.

TRUSTED LEGAL SOURCE

Blair has a solid reputation as  strong analytical mind and is a trusted source for legal advice. For most of his career he has been a faculty member of the Utah Prosecution Council and regularly instructs prosecutors and law enforcement all across the state and nation. Officers and prosecutors from all over the state reach out often to seek legal advice, which he is always happy to share. Blair has developed several charts, guides, and reference sheets that are utilized by prosecutors, officers, and legislators statewide. He also publishes a monthly "Prosecutor Bulletin" that is referenced and used by prosecutors and law enforcement across the state.

CHAMPION FOR VICTIMS

Blair has devoted his entire career to fighting for victims and bringing them justice. Blair has successfully obtained convictions in extremely difficult cases involving murder, sexual assault, and child sexual abuse. A former board member of the New Hope Crisis Center and the current Chair of the First District Victim Rights Committee, Blair uses a trauma-informed approach to serve victims with respect, dignity, and compassion. Blair is the only two-time recipient of the Prosecutor of the Year award from the Utah Office for Victim's of Crime. As County Attorney, Blair will continue to be a champion for victims.
