Investigators from the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office (BESO) recently sat down with the News Journal, along with Sheriff Kevin Potter and Deputy County Attorney Blair Wardle, to discuss one of the most difficult and high-profile cases in county history, the murder of 19-year-old Dylan Rounds. Wardle named Utah prosecutor of the year - twice

Box Elder County Prosecutor Blair Wardle received two prestigious awards this year but is giving the credit to those he works with and those who help support the county’s team to fight crime and keep the peace.

 

Wardle has been a prosecutor with Box Elder County since 2012 and in that time has handled 21 jury trials, half of which involved victim related crimes. Making sure victims aren’t overlooked, Wardle has implemented a pre-screening checklist to make sure no victims are missed by officers when reviewing and uploading cases, allowing victims the chance to receive the help they need. Wardle also wrote a manual for prosecutors to ensure fairness in prosecuting and handling cases
